Privacy Policy

No tracking. No app data collection.

PulseCanvas Studio does not collect or transmit your personal information, music, projects, exported videos, identifiers, or usage analytics to Protomota. The app has no accounts, advertising, tracking, or upload services.

Local files and preferences

Your soundtrack is processed on your Mac. Favorites, saved visual styles, timeline preferences, and export settings are stored locally. You choose where to save your projects and videos.

Saved projects can contain a local reference and a macOS access bookmark for your soundtrack. They do not embed the audio. If you share a project or video, you decide what to share and with whom.

Radio playback

When you open Radio, PulseCanvas downloads a public station playlist and music from radio.pulsecanvas.si, hosted on Cloudflare R2. Songs are cached and analyzed on your Mac for playback and beat-aligned visuals. The hosting service receives routine request information, including your IP address, to deliver these files. Radio does not upload your own music, projects, favorites, or visual settings, and it does not send app usage analytics.

This website

With your permission, this website uses Google Analytics to understand visits, pages viewed, scrolling, and link clicks, including visits to the Mac App Store and newsletter. Google Analytics uses cookies and processes website usage and browser/device information under Google’s privacy policy.

Analytics is off until you choose Allow analytics. You can decline or change your choice through Analytics settings in the footer. We store your preference in this browser. Advertising personalization and Google signals are disabled. We do not send email addresses, music, projects, or video files to Analytics.

The site has no email collection form. Visiting it does not subscribe you to the newsletter. Website analytics is separate from the macOS app, which does not track or collect your data.

The service hosting a website may process standard web-request information to deliver it. Hosting practices are separate from the app, which does not send data to us.

One optional Protomota newsletter

If you choose to join the Protomota newsletter, your email address is used to send that shared newsletter. There is one newsletter for Protomota products, including PulseCanvas Studio, rather than a separate PulseCanvas mailing list.

Signup happens on the newsletter service, which handles the information you submit under its own privacy practices. You can unsubscribe using the link in a newsletter email. Subscribing is never required to use the app.

Optional donations

The tips page and homepage link to our creator page on Buy Me a Coffee. There is no embedded payment form or Buy Me a Coffee tracking script on this website. Any payment information you choose to submit on that service is handled under its own terms and privacy practices.

Services you choose to visit

The direct-download edition uses Sparkle to check pulsecanvas.si for app updates. The update service receives routine network request information, including your IP address and app version. System profiling is disabled. Automatic update checks can be disabled in app Settings. The App Store edition does not include Sparkle.

Apple handles App Store and optional diagnostic information under Apple’s privacy practices and your device settings. GitHub and the newsletter service handle visits to their sites under their own policies.

If you choose to report a bug on GitHub, the information you post is public. Include only what you want to share; do not post private music, projects, or personal information.
